YQs in Region 2 make pencil and needle cases
We recently held our second Young Quilters Workshop for the East Grinstead area. This was again held at The Glebe Centre in Crawley Down, which is a lovely new building and very well equipped.
We had 16 enthusiastic girls aged from 6 to 11 and they made pencil cases and needle cases from felt and fabric. Some of them managed to do both projects in the two hours, the others took their second item away to finish at home.
As with all quilters there was a mix of hand and machine sewing, extra embellishing, and general chat and fun.
Thank you to all our team of helpers, especially Morag Hooker who prepared the kits, and tried out ideas on her granddaughter.
