Young Quilter Schools/Groups at The Festival of Quilts
Congratulations to all YQ schools and groups for taking part! A huge well done for the team effort making these quilts, they were incredibly impressive and showed the talent of the young people involved.
Fishergate Primary school from Region 14 collected 2nd prize in the Primary Schools category. Gilly Mac Designs Senior Sewing Group (lead by Region 6 YQ Rep Gill Towell) won 2nd prize in the Secondary School category.

GillyMac Designs Junior Sewing Bee (Region 6) - "We designed this quilt based in each of our memories of trips to the seaside. We enjoyed piecing the background with all of our fabric we could find and then drawing out the applique shapes. Adding in the people was the best bit. We hope you like it!'"
Sutton Stitchers (Region 7) - "We made a list of everything we loved doing on the beach!"SEE PHOTO TO ABOVE - 'Fun on the Beach'
