Wild Life at Hever Castle - Quilt Challenge
Region 2 Young Quilters:
Have you heard about the Hever Challenge? Have you thought about entering this year?
Hever Castle hosts the annual Handmade and Home Grown Festival where members of Region 2 of the Quilters’ Guild of the British Isles have their annual quilt show, this year from 11th - 13th September.
For Young Quilters there are Sit & Sew sessions on both Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th.
Even more importantly, Young Quilters are invited to take part in the 2015 Hever Quilt Challenge. This year’s challenge is “Wild Life at Hever Castle” and could show anything from a tiny a lady bird to a great big deer and everything inbetween!
There will be two age bands for
judging, 5 - 11 and 12 - 16 years, with
prizes for the top three entries in each band.
Use your imagination and have fun. You might like to visit Hever Castle’s web site at the following links http://www.hevercastle.co.uk/visit/gardens/nature-wildlife/
Your challenge quilt must be no larger than 60cm/24” square. Be as creative as you like. You can use any technique. Sew by hand, sewing machine or both. Remember this needs to be your own work, but if you do need help from an adult then please state on the entry form what help you had. We all need help sometimes.
The entry form is attached to this e-mail. Please note that the Closing Date for entries has been extended to 10th July. Remember that you then have the summer to complete your work as it does not need to be ready for collection or delivery until 3rd September. You will be told how it should be collected/delivered in plenty of time.
Best wishes and I hope you have fun making your entry,
Kathryn Greig
