Exploring textiles at Bourne Abbey CE Primary Academy
The children at Bourne Abbey CE Primary Academy have been busy learning different quilting and textile techniques when creating Indian inspired Wall-hangings, with the help from the textile artist Sue Rowland. The children had lots of fun being creative. This is what the children said…………………
‘I have enjoyed using a sewing machine…and using different fabrics.’
‘Silk painting was great and then I liked adding the beads and sparkle.’
‘I did lots of hand stitching. I wanted it to be bright and colourful so used lots of different colour fabric and textures. This made the wall-hanging very tactile.'
